Naos Entertainment, based in Greenville, Alabama is a theater and entertianment company in central Alabama. Our passion is movies and providing the best theater experience to our customers.



History

In 2006, Marty Felts formed Naos Entertainment with the idea of bringing world class theater entertainment to areas in Alabama and the South East that have been traditionally underserved. Originally based in Mobile, Alabama, Naos Entertainment began a search for it's first theater location, and with help from Mayor Dexter McClendon, Greenville, Alabama was chosen for the location of the first theater. In February 2007 construction began on a state of the art 8 screen movie theater located just off I-65 in Greenville. The Edge was completed in June and opened on July 4th 2007.

Marty Felts, President & CEO

Marty Felts was born in Abilene, Texas and grew up in west Texas. He graduated from Lake View High School in San Angelo, Texas in 1987.

Marty first attended Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas. He later attended Howard Payne University in Brownwood, Texas where he received a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a minor in Marketing in 1992.

From June of 1993 to May of 1995, Marty served served with the International Mission Board in East Africa. He served as the Business Administrator in Rwanda until the genocide began in April 1994. After the evacuation from Rwanda, his primary duties consisted of organizing refugee efforts in Tanzania, Congo, and Somalia. His service included stops in Rwanda, Tanzania, Kenya, Somalia and The Congo.

In 1995, Marty married Kimberly Holley from Monroeville, Alabama. Marty and Kimberly have three children, Gavin 8, Regan 6 and Lauren 1.

Marty's movie theater career began in high school in San Angelo, Texas. In 1996, he was recruited by Hollywood Theaters as the leading manager for opening new locations. He opened the first stadium theater in West Texas in Midland. During his time at Hollywood Theaters he opened theaters in Midland, Texas; Norman and Tulsa, Oklahoma and Joplin, Missouri. His final project with Hollywood Theaters was the Stadium 18 in Mobile, Alabama in October 1998. He has worked for Trans Texas, Hollywood Theaters and Wallace Theaters and consulted for Rave Motion Pictures for opening theaters in Montgomery and Daphne, Alabama and Pensacola, Florida.

In 2006, Marty formed Naos Entertainment and began searching for locations that have traditionally been underserved in the theater industry. His first theater was built in Greenville, Alabama and began operation in July of 2007. Greenville's theater, called The Edge, is a state of the art 8 screen theater with stadium seating, high back rocking chairs, Dolby Digital sound, high definition display boards and other amenities. Marty is president and CEO of Naos Entertainment.



Michael Nimmer, General Manager

Michael was born in Montgomery, Alabama and grew up in central Alabama and Texas. He attended Spring Woods High School in Houston, Texas and graduated from Greenville High School in Greenville, Alabama.

Michael attended Lurleen B. Wallace Jr. College in Andalusia , Alabama where he played baseball. Later, he transferred to Auburn University in Montgomery where he studied accounting.

From July of 1987 to July 1989, Michael served a mission for his church in Lisbon, Portugal. During his two years in Portugal, he became fluent in Portuguese and lived in the cities of Taivra, Loures, Setubal, Beja, Sintra and Lisbon.

Michael began work in photography and one hour photofinishing in March 1990 and went to work for Wolf Camera in March of 1991. There he was a retail sales and processing manager and was responsible for developing and teaching customer photography classes along with management of stores and training employees.

In May 2001, he went to work for Capitol Filmworks as the retail division manager and purchaser. He was responsible for writing the company policy manual, developing and teaching photography classes for both amateur and professional photographers, creating an employee training program and handling local, state and federal bids for photography equipment, equipment training and photo software instruction. Michael was also instrumental in teaching professional photographers how to convert from film to digital during the digital camera surge of the 2000's.

He married Lisa Clark in 1990. He and Lisa have 4 children, Susan, Rushton, Ruth Anne and Kathryn.

He went to work for Naos Entertainment in May 2007 and is general manger of The Edge in Greenville, Alabama.

Michael also serves as Chairman of the Board for Healthy Kids, Inc. Healthy Kids is a non profit corporation that administers the USDA CACFP Food Program to over 120 day care homes in 13 counties in central Alabama. Along with child nutrition, Healthy Kids operates the First Steps child care program for the Butler County School System and also operates the Children's Trust Fund Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Program for Butler, Conecuh, Crenshaw and Lowndes Counties.
